Assay Development Researcher – Maternity Leave Replacement (9 months)

We are looking for an assay development researcher to join our biology team for a maternity leave replacement position - ~9 months. As an assay developer, you will support the development, optimization, and testing of biochemical assays used in our smartphone-based diagnostic platform.
Requirements
- M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical thinking with high attention to detail
- Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience working on assay development and bioanalytical methods - advantage
- Experience with colorimetric assays such as ELISA and Enzymatic Reactions - advantage
- High verbal and written skills in English
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on laboratory work to support the development and optimization of biochemical assays, with an emphasis on colorimetric reactions
- Assist in designing and running experiments to troubleshoot and improve assay performance
- Contribute to feasibility, stability, and analytical performance testing of assays
- Support the team by researching relevant scientific literature to inform development efforts
- Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and observations
- Participate in early-stage testing of new assay concepts that may influence future product development
